Ivar has earned its place: a pine system that has organised pantries, garages and living rooms for half a century, honest about its material and endlessly hackable. Many shelves in German homes started as an Ivar. The wish behind it – a shelf that adapts instead of dictating – is the same wish KUUDU is built for, taken up in a different material class.

The configuration shown is one section (75 cm) at about 180 cm height with varied gap heights and a single closed box. Oak veneer (FSC European) on powder-coated aluminium: the surface comes oiled and open-pored ex works, the posts carry 20 kg per board, and the build stays open on all sides.

The 75 cm section grid extends sideways up to 450 cm, levels and gap heights are chosen per section, and the same parts rebuild when the shelf moves rooms or homes. The 3D configurator shows price and dimensions live; made in Germany.

FAQ

Pine or oak – does it matter for a shelf?

They age differently. Untreated pine is light, soft and takes marks quickly unless oiled or waxed; the oak veneer here comes oiled ex works, open-pored, over an aluminium frame that carries the load.

Is KUUDU also a system I can rearrange?

Yes. Levels, gap heights, boxes and mounting are chosen per 75 cm section, and the same parts rebuild into other configurations. Extension and replacement modules ship within the standard delivery time.

What does the aluminium frame change?

The posts carry the structure, so boards stay slim while each carries 20 kg. The shelf reads as wood; the load path is metal.
