Building

mocoba has refined one idea for decades: a box that interlocks with metal pins and stacks reliably to room height. The system's strength is repetition – identical modules, added as the library grows. Anyone considering mocoba wants shelving that grows without replacing what's there. That wish is the starting point here too, answered with posts and boards instead of boxes.

Slim & Tall Standing Display Shelf for Living Rooms - KUUDU Modular Shelving System - Oak

The configuration shown is one section (75 cm) at about 216 cm height: a tall open tower with a single closed box near the floor. Instead of stacking cells, KUUDU spans oak boards between aluminium posts, so the shelf reads as horizontal lines rather than a grid of compartments. Levels and gap heights are chosen per section.

Oak veneer (FSC European), oiled, on powder-coated aluminium – each board rated for 20 kg. The 75 cm grid extends sideways up to 450 cm, and extension modules ship within the standard delivery time. The 3D configurator shows price and dimensions as you build; made in Germany.

FAQ

How does KUUDU grow compared with a box system?

Both grow by adding parts. A box system stacks further cells; KUUDU adds sections sideways or levels upward, using the same posts and boards. Nothing built today is replaced tomorrow.

Is an open build as stable as stacked boxes?

The aluminium posts carry the load, and each board is rated for 20 kg. Freestanding shelves stand on oak foot rosettes; tall or heavily loaded builds can also be wall-secured.

Can compartments be closed?

Yes. Single cells can be built as closed boxes inside the open grid – the configuration shown keeps one box near the floor and everything above open.
