The Vertiko, Rethought – a Modern Half-Height Cabinet in Oak

  • 75 × 138 × 35 cm
  • FSC oak
  • Made in Germany
  • Configurable in 3D
Building

The Vertiko is one of the quiet heroes of the German household: a narrow, half-height cabinet from the Gründerzeit, doors below, often a small gallery above, standing in hallways and parlours for over a century. Many still hold a grandparent's china. Whoever searches for a modern Vertiko wants exactly this format – chest height, small footprint, real wood – without the antique.

Mid-Height Versatile Storage Sideboard - KUUDU Modular Shelving System - Oak

The configuration shown takes the format literally: one section (75 cm) at 138 cm height with a closed box below and open levels above. Oak veneer (FSC European) on powder-coated aluminium, oiled and open-pored – the closed cell holds what the classic hid behind its doors, the open levels carry what deserves daylight.

Unlike the original, this piece is a system: gap heights re-arrange, the box moves cells, and a second section attaches when the hallway becomes a living room wall. Each board carries 20 kg. The 3D configurator shows price and dimensions live; made in Germany.

FAQ

What defines a Vertiko?

A narrow, half-height cabinet, usually around chest height, with doors below and often a small shelf or gallery on top – a furniture type of the late 19th century, built for hallways and small rooms.

How close is this to the classic format?

The proportions match: 75 cm wide, 138 cm high, closed storage below, open display above. The construction is contemporary – oak veneer (FSC European) on powder-coated aluminium, configurable per cell.

Can it grow beyond the classic format?

Yes, that is the difference. The 75 cm grid adds sections sideways and levels upward, so the half-height piece can become a full wall later – with the same parts.
